The Internet Of Some Things: Ambient Computing

All that glitters is not gold when it comes to the Internet of Things. Briggs said that the concept of Internet of Things has its pitfalls when it comes to delivering focused, tangible and profitable business results.

"The question is not how to put more sensors on things and collect more big data, it's how do you we use very bounded data sets in a scenario that has a clear impact and value on specific business outcomes," Briggs said.

2015 will be all about scaling back and excitement around IoT and Big Data and figuring out how "we do analytics on the edge and it's not just a bunch of Big Data noise," Briggs said.
