How A Traditional Telecom Solution Provider Boosted UCaaS Sales

From Reselling Equipment To 'All In' On Cloud

For the traditional telecom solution provider that's well acquainted with reselling desk phones, cloud-based communications solutions have turned the industry on its ear.

With unified communications as a service (UCaaS) outpacing traditional voice solutions, the telecom agent channel has also had to evolve. But selling UCaaS presents a unique set of challenges, especially when solution providers are pitching the sale to their long-term end customers.

Prime Telecommunications, a telecommunications solution provider based in Skokie, Ill., that used to resell phone equipment, has gone all-in with selling cloud-based voice solutions. Specifically, Prime has seen a spike in UCaaS sales since it added Broadview Networks’ OfficeSuite UC offering to its portfolio.

In this Q&A, Prime founder Vic Levinson (pictured) shares his company’s journey to selling cloud, the barriers it faced, and the opportunity around selling UCaaS that other telecom solution providers should consider, if they aren’t already.
