Five Takeaways From Dell's 'State Of IT Trends' Survey

Eyes On Growth, Productivity

Increased productivity and growth have become the top concerns for IT buyers, according to a Dell-sponsored survey, "State of IT Trends."

The survey argues that business and IT leaders’ understanding of technology’s role is much greater and more sophisticated than thought. Gone are the days when a business leader’s understanding of IT was lacking, like an IT leader’s understanding of the balance sheet.

“In the past, business and IT leaders had different levels of understanding of IT trends and technologies,” the survey concludes. “However, over time, (their) perceptions of technology have evolved and (are) more closely aligned as new technologies have entered the market and become increasingly critical drivers of an organization’s success.”

The survey of 700 IT decision makers and 500 business decision makers in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Japan, Brazil, India and China, was conducted via online interviews in April and May.
