An Historic Year For IoT

The number of strategic partnerships and mergers and acquisitions involving the Internet of Things so far this year may eclipse the blistering pace set in 2015.

While there were only a dozen acquisitions in 2010 related to IoT, there were 81 in 2015, according to a report by research firm Strategy Analytics. IoT strategic partnerships are also rising at an unprecedented rate, with global IT giants such as IBM and AT&T, as well as General Electric and Huawei unveiling new alliances to boost their IoT portfolios.
