For small and mid-sized businesses, denial and a belief in obscurity aren't means of protection anymore, according to McDonald. He says SMBs are being targeted more and more by hackers, as they know their defenses are weaker. This presents an opportunity for solution providers and MSPs to educate their SMB clients on their security needs, and serve as a bridge between IT and the board of directors (who are often the ones driving the denial).
