Market transitions and disruptive innovation seems to be happening quicker than ever before, how is Splunk going to keep up?

Cloud, continuous delivery and continuous insights are technology trends critical to delivering those characteristics, but technology alone won't get you there. The secret sauce is establishing an organizational cadence and creating a fast-feedback loop where the business can listen to the data, and quickly iterate or pivot. Operational intelligence is key to establishing this fast feedback loop, and Splunk is uniquely positioned as a trusted partner.

We continue to invest decisively into the platform so we are always ready for the largest and most demanding use cases. We want to be one step ahead of our customers and accelerate their innovation by also simplifying development of solutions on top of this platform. The ecosystem plays a critical role in that.

What made you want to come to Splunk?

At GE Capital, I had the opportunity to drive a major transformation, instilling a culture of commercial intensity, enabling the organization to move at market speed and becoming a true disruptor in specialty finance. Having wrapped up that transformation, and the announcement that GE planned to sell GE Capital, the timing for a move was right and I landed my dream job.

I've admired Splunk for years, since my time at IBM. As a customer of Splunk while I was CIO at GE, I experienced the versatility and power of the Splunk platform firsthand.

Why is Splunk so hot right now?

Splunk is hot for one simple reason: they always put the customer first, earn their trust and consistently deliver greater value. They've done this at scale for years, systematically building a passionate, loyal customer base. At our town hall last week, (Senior Vice President of Security Markets) Haiyan Song joked that we gave away over 2,700 Splunk t-shirts at the recent RSA event and that we should consider this as a reported metric. I think she's on to something.
