In an interview with IT Best Of Breed right after his address, Cameron said service providers can find opportunities by stepping into that "gap" between IT and the business units, such as a cloud transformation or a shift to a mobile platform.

"So, how to architect and build those" will offer an opportunity for service providers, he added, as well as "reaching across different internal organizations" – that is, IT and the business units - to get all the details they to build the right solutions to help them accomplish their goals.

"Sometimes," Cameron added, "a service provider is a lot better to span those internal entities than the politics will allow an internal CIO or a business executive."
