ManTech expressed the potential it sees in BeaconGov, as the Coral Springs, Fla.-based company provides space mission support to NASA for major launches at the Goddard Space Flight Center. In 2014, BeaconGov was honored with the Center Award for Exceptional Achievement for a Systems Engineering Team by NASA for its work on NASA's Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution (MAVEN) mission.

In addition to this work, BeaconGov specializes in strategic technology, engineering, and business solutions to the federal, state and local governments. It believes it will see internal development and growth with the assistance it will receive from a company of ManTech’s caliber.

Cooperation between government-focused solution providers "brings a more comprehensive approach to delivering on services to the Government," a Beacon spokesperson said.

In addition to the mentor-protégé relationship, Beacon has also formed a joint venture, BeaTech Partners JV, which is in the process of approvals by Small Business Administration. This allows the company to jointly bid on many small business opportunities and gives it opportunities for "reach back" resources that many small companies do not have access to.

ManTech specializes in solutions for enterprise IT departments, software and systems engineering, cyber security, mission assurance, healthcare IT, and global logistics. The Fairfax, VA-based company works with NASA, DHS, Veterans Affairs, the Department of Justice, and other intelligence, defense, and federal civilian customers.
