Selling A Client On Software Asset Management

The Audit Threat
Companies don’t pay close attention to managing their software assets better until they’re audited, or when “they’re staring down the barrel of a gun,” says Chuck Fried, president and CEO of TxMQ, a software asset management specialist based in Getzville, N.Y.
Citing Gartner, 1E said two-thirds of companies surveyed – 66 percent – received audit requests last year.
That aligns with the view of Kevin Hooton, a software asset management specialist for SoftwareOne, a Switzerland-based software licensing specialist with U.S. operations. Larger enterprises, though, are more apt to get audited, Hooton says.
