Intel: Confidence In Cloud Security Grows

A Growing 'Shadow'

"Shadow IT" is a growing concern for the corporate IT department when it comes to keeping the cloud safe and secure, as 65 percent of survey respondents believe non-IT colleagues get in the way. Intel said almost 40 percent of cloud services are commissioned without the involvement of IT, "driven by the slower adoption of IT or the mainstream acceptance of clouds."

Intel's suggestion? Business should boost their use of such "underutilized" technologies as data loss prevention, encryption and cloud security access brokers. "Integrating these tools with an existing security system increases visibility [and] enables discovery of shadow services," Intel said.
