Gartner: Businesses That Look Ahead Will Stay Ahead

Long-term Strategies Lead To Success

In its recent 2015 survey of CEOs and senior business executives, research firm Gartner found organizations that plan long-term strategies, as opposed to those who plan for the short term, are more likely to gain a competitive advantage.

The survey was conducted in the last quarter of 2014, and included 400 senior business leaders in user global organizations with an annual revenue of $1 billion or more.

According to the survey, 95 percent of organizations that conduct long-range planning are more likely to outperform organizations that don't plan ahead. Gartner classifies "long range" as five to 15 years.
