3-D printing is a market that is set for takeoff.
The 30-year-old technology has finally become affordable, and more user friendly in both hardware and software. Because 3-D printing is easier to use and more price friendly, companies are finding different uses for the technology. Many are even starting from scratch as firms centered entirely on 3-D printing. 
Research firm Canalys says the 3-D printing space was valued at $2.5 billion in 2013, and projects the worldwide revenue in the space to grow to $16.2 billion by 2016.
