BitSight recommends that organizations that count on service providers to manage data off-premise be sure that they don't have outdated endpoints that are connected to the corporate network. "If organizations cannot determine whether their critical vendors are using outdated operating systems or Internet browsers, they should consider restricting the vendor’s access to the company’s sensitive data so that it's not at risk in the event of a breach," BitSight said in its report.
