How DXC Plans To Make A Dent In Digital Transformation

The Next 'Cycle' Of IT Services

DXC calls the "digital disruption" of business the fourth cycle in the history of IT services provision, starting with a mainframe focus before the 1990s. That gave way to the breakup of the IT stack, unleashing many technology solutions, as well as innovation at each layer of the stack.

The third cycle, outsourcing and globalization – or what DXC calls "your mess for less" – began in the mid-1990s and continues today, with a heavy focus on cost control. But on the flip side, Lawrie told investors, it constrained innovation. The new, digital cycle aims to unleash it.
