(UPDATED SEPT. 28, 2015) Earlier this month, Apple showed off the perks of its newest operating system, iOS 9, on its new iPhone 6s smartphones and iPad Pro tablet.

Apple hailed iOS 9 as faster, smarter and more efficient software, with new features like Proactive, which provides contextual user suggestions, as well as more powerful spotlight searches.

But, according to a white paper released by Mountain View, Calif.-based mobile security company MobileIron, the operating system, which debuted Sept. 16, also touts enhanced features in the security, app development and device management spaces.
