Growth Comes With Challenges

The managed service provider industry has matured over the past few years, but the ever-evolving technology industry has pockmarked the road to growth with a few potholes, according to the results of a recent survey by the nonprofit trade group CompTIA.

For starters, MSPs are more confident in their skill level since CompTIA undertook a similar survey in 2012. It said about 65 percent of MSPs surveyed this year call themselves "skilled" at service delivery, with some of that tied to market maturity. Eighty-eight percent of the MSPs surveyed have been offering technology services for at least two years, with about half having been established for at least five, the survey found.
