Customer Discovers New Cloud Application

Motiwala said his firm is often contacted when a business discovers a cloud application being used by a business unit that may be storing regulatory data. Businesses often have poor visibility and believe that they have only two or three cloud applications that are authorized for use, he said. That opens the door for Motiwala's firm to use a tool to uncover the number of unauthorized cloud applications being used within the organization. The assessment begins with a discussion to gage the company's security posture, any regulatory requirements that must be met and the maturity of the systems and services that have been adopted.
