10 Ways Women Can Stand Out In The Workplace

At the Women of the Channel West conference, June 3, top business executives from across the country gathered to discuss how women could overcome obstacles in the technology industry.

Margaret Dawson, CMO at Rival IQ, a Seattle, Wash.-based digital marketing analytics company, explained to a crowd of channel business women how they could overcome challenges industry while making an impact in the workplace.

Women from an early age are told how to behave, said Dawson, listing out phrases that she has heard in the workforce, from "you can't be a good mother and a full-time worker," to questions like "why do you overanalyze things?"

Following are ten ways Dawson said women can overcome these prejudices in the workforce by embracing their "lights," or unique features.
