Haffar said Computex went straight to Ingram for the creative work because of the existing relationship with the company.

"Engaging Ingram, you're engaging with a big company with a big marketing department that's very professional and using them gave us the look and feel of a much bigger company," Haffar said.

One of the main advantages the agency can tout is the fact that Ingram knows its partners' business better than competing agencies outside the technology space.

That's why Guy Baroan, president of Elmwood Park, N.J.-based managed solutions provider Baroan Technologies, hired Agency Ingram Micro roughly a year ago to redesign his company's website.

"They are in the technology space and so I wanted to take a look at what they could do because they understand what a managed service provider is," Baroan said. "For me to educate someone on the industry would be fine, but I thought if we have the capability to work with someone in the same space, I don't have to explain my business to them. They know, so when we're talking to them with what we want for the look or how we want things to flow, they understand exactly what we want. They actually saved us a lot of time."

Baroan Technologies, which now has its own in-house marketing executive, continues to consult with Agency Ingram Micro on campaigns, Baroan said.

The uptick in business for Agency Ingram Micro comes on the heels of a rebrand announced Monday for the company -- complete with a modernized logo and tag line "Promise of Technology" -- that looks to highlight strides made in streamlining the company's operations to make it easier for channel partners to navigate.

That included globalizing operations into four business units -- cloud, mobility, supply chain and technology solutions -- late last year.

The rebrand could help tell the story of Ingram Micro and the agency better now that the operational improvements have been made and it's expected to be a big topic of discussion during Ingram's IM1 September event in Las Vegas.

"With this new brand and the message that we're going to market, I think that it'll be easier for our partners to help navigate through and how do I partner with Ingram Micro? And how can Ingram Micro help me grow my business."
