Enterprises with more than 2,000 employees are typically going to be running three clouds for infrastructure, Tudor said, which typically includes both a private and public cloud offering.

In these instances, Tudor said HPE's hybrid cloud management capabilities are a major differentiator since the vendor is capable of tracking and managing AWS, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack and Docker all from a centralized reporting platform on the local virtual machine. 

"You're not giving up your ability to use public cloud in a crunch case," Tudor said.

HPE's cloud offering also includes a drag-and-drop service designer, which Tudor said provides a true DevOps environment to build cloud-native applications and rapidly automate complex application and infrastructure deployment.
