Force 3 CEO On New Brand, Vision & Strategy

Crofton, Md.-based solution provider Force 3 has rebranded itself with a new vision, logo and strategy along with a new website to better reflect the company's security mission.

Its new tagline, 'The Network Security Company' is a change the 24-year-old company says represents the start of a new era. The company has evolved from silos of the past to a more holistic, deeply integrated approach, said CEO Mike Greaney.

Greaney tells CRN the new brand is focused on meeting the complex security demands of today's federal government and commercial customers.

Why decide to rebrand the company in 2015? How long has this been in the works?

Last year, we began formulating a new vision for Force 3 as "The Network Security Company." We play an important role in securely bringing technology to our customers to help them achieve their mission. We take that responsibility very seriously and decided to rebrand this year to reflect our commitment to that vision. We wanted to put a stake in the ground that said, "This is who we are and what we stand for."

For more than 20 years, Force 3 has been a leader in networking and security. But that's not security in the siloed sense. Rather, it means that everything we do is viewed through a security lens. Security is embedded into everything that we do.

What do you hope to gain by rebranding Force 3?

We hope to establish our identity as "the network security company." When you think of Force 3, that's what we want you think of. We also hope to articulate Force 3's key differentiators, such as our unique service desk offerings; and to build awareness around our thought leaders and the strides they are making in next-generation technologies, such as SDN.

As these emerging technologies continue to evolve, our experts are at the forefront of secure design, deployment, support and maintenance of new solutions to meet customers' ever-changing business challenges.

Explain the new tagline, "The Network Security Company" and why does it matter?

The new tagline describes exactly who we are and what we do. It matters because as a trusted partner, it is critical to our customers that Force 3 have a clear identity. Now, with our refreshed vision, brand, and tagline, it's clear that everything we do begins and ends with security in mind. Technology will of course continue to evolve, but the need to protect information, investments and people will never go away. That's what we are here to help our customers achieve.
