Scott Udell, vice president of IoT solutions at Boston-based CTP, said there is potential value in vertical markets for wearables – but moving forward, vendors should keep privacy and security concerns in mind.
"At some point in the near future [augmented reality] will become a thing and not just another overhyped technology. ... There is a real use case in field service and maintenance," he said. "That having been said, for me personally, the privacy concerns still far outweigh the potential business value."
