Entatech's home region is one familiar to Egenera; Xterity debuted in Ireland.

In the five months since, it has expanded into seven data centers around the world, with a few in the U.S. that came online in July, one in Frankfurt, Germany, and a Tokyo facility that opened in recent weeks.

Other than the original Dublin facility, all the infrastructure is housed in Equinix data centers.

Xterity is built on Fujitsu servers and storage, Brocade networking, a VMware virtualization platform and Egenera's cloud management software: a combination of converged infrastructure and cloud management software.

That infrastructure offers a full spectrum of Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service and backup capabilities that Egenera partners—and now Entatech partners—can present to customers as their own.
