Business Leaders Are Stuck In Their Comfort Zones

Only 20 percent of full-time employees say their organization’s leaders are very open to taking risks, and only 18 percent say they are very comfortable with risking failure in pursuit of innovation.

Van Noort suggests that business leaders can do more to encourage a risk-taking mentality.

"If leaders are open to new ideas and if leaders are progressive in their thinking, then it sort of sets the tone for the organization to know that they can try things and fail, and it's OK, providing that they learn," she told ITBestOfBreed. "But I would say, as a whole, [that] organizations still struggle with the ability to accept failure."
