Survey: Most Businesses To Spend More On Cloud In 2017

Business Boost For Cloud Consultants

Fifty-seven percent of businesses that Clutch surveyed hire an external consulting firm to help them implement their cloud strategy.

"Companies can go it alone," Przygode said in the Clutch report. "However, I would say that cloud computing isn’t the same type of computing as was in previous generations. There’s traditional IT and then there’s cloud IT. Frankly, the infrastructure and more importantly the way of managing that infrastructure has changed dramatically."

But paying for consulting help may not be so easy for small to medium-sized businesses, the report said. Kevin Rubin, president and COO of Stratosphere Networks, a Chicago-based IT managed service provider, said in the report that large enterprises may be able to afford consulting help, and SMBs may need to seek lower-priced providers.
