Q&A With Davra Networks' Paul Glynn: Solution Providers Skill Up For IoT

Delivering The Skills To Deliver IoT

As interest in the Internet of Things builds, so does demand for training in the skills solution providers need to deliver IoT to their customers.

Davra Networks, an Intel and Cisco IoT partner that offers an industrial IoT application enablement platform, recently rolled out a partnership with IT training specialist Fast Lane to deliver four new Davra-certified courses based on that platform. Davra's CEO, Paul Glynn (pictured), said his Dublin, Ireland-based company (which has an office in Sunnyvale, Calif.) is focusing its training on Davra's system integrator partners that work chiefly with transportation customers.

"When an organization looks to connect these things, … they will go to the people who put the network into their building: … that systems integrator who runs the network and connects all the buildings to each other," Glynn said.  Systems integrators "need to understand the opportunity" IoT offers and how they can address that, he added.

In an interview with IT Best of Breed, Glynn addressed the IoT opportunity for solution providers. Here's an edited version of that interview.
