By far, the most important aspect to adopting cloud is clearly defining the fulfillment processes for each cloud computing request. It’s one thing to go in with a company credit card and start using cloud resources. It’s quite another to centrally track and manage cloud usage.

Organizations need to plan first. This includes understanding and mapping out the request-to-fulfilment processes and understanding integrations. What groups of people at the organization - for example security and finance - need to have visibility into the organization’s overall cloud computing usage?

A lot of IT departments are looking to become “cloud brokers.” That is, companies want central IT to track cloud costs, decide what clouds to buy, and strategize what apps are best moved to the cloud.
