Last Week's News, By The Numbers

Growth In Different Ways

There was much news last week about revenue growth, starting with Intel's announcement that it saw double-digit percentage growth in the first quarter from the Internet of Things.

$721 million

First-quarter 2017 Internet of Things-related sales for Intel, a jump of 11 percent year over year. IoT was part of the company's "growth businesses" during the quarter, and they collectively grew double digits over the first quarter of last year, Intel reported last week. The numbers were announced a year after Intel embarked on a massive company restructuring program, CEO Brian Krzanich said. He added that the company is "reaching milestones in transforming from a PC company to one that powers the cloud and billions of connected devices."
