Nvidia Max-Q

Nvidia used Computex 2017 not to announce a new graphics product, but to disclose a new design approach that the company is bringing to its GTX GPUs (1060, 1070 and 1080). That design approach, dubbed Max-Q, will ultimately enable the development of gaming laptops that offer up to 70 percent more gaming performance while remaining as thin as a MacBook Air (0.70 of an inch thick). Laptops using the Max-Q design approach will be available from a number of vendors starting on June 27, Nvidia said. Vendors will include HP, Lenovo, Dell-owned Alienware, Acer and Asus.
