Dell's PowerEdge servers have been updated with an eye toward enterprise customers with highly virtualized data centers, and that demand big data and analytics capabilities. The updates are designed to allow customers to quickly deploy database-intensive applications, easily scale up infrastructures and more effectively manage mission-critical workloads, Dell says.

The results? Faster performance and access to real-time analytics and greater flexibility, allowing solution providers to essentially "future proof" customers' data centers. The updated PowerEdge 930 [pictured] and PowerEdge 830 four-socket servers are shipping now.
