Google's Adrian Ludwig has taken to Google+ to talk about the security issues around the new policy of not supplying patches and support to exploits of WebView on devices running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or older. While it does explain Google's thinking behind only supporting the last two major versions of Android, it abandons a significant majority of Android users because "it was no longer practical."
