Invent a new buzzword and the marketeers are sure to follow. And no buzzword has quite the same allure as the Internet of Things, the heady idea that in short order we will live in a world awash with connected sensors – in our bodies, our homes and our environment, these sensors will throw off a massive amount of data that, we’re told, will help to make our lives better, cheaper, faster, longer and (assuredly) more beautiful.
