IDC's Enterprise Communications Survey, 2014: U.S. and Western European Network Priorities, Strategies, and Spending

This IDC Presentation presents the results of IDC's annual enterprise communications surveys conducted in the U.S. and Western Europe, which provide a valuable insight into the attitudes, concerns, and plans of qualified network and telecom decision makers across both regions.The two surveys cover a combined sample of 1,124 Western European and 1,044 U.S. respondents. In the first quarter of 2014, companies of different sizes (small, medium-sized, and large) and vertical sectors (financial services, manufacturing, public sector, healthcare, retail/distribution, business services, and transport/utilities) were interviewed.This presentation highlights key findings as well as similarities and differences between U.S. and Western European enterprises. Questions common to both surveys are discussed, including technology priorities, spending plans, WAN technology usage, emerging technology adoption, and network service provider selection criteria.
