Bitnet Technologies, a digital commerce platform provider for bitcoin payments, has raised $14.5 million in Series A funding. Highland Capital Partners led the round. Other investors included Rakuten, Webb Investment Network, Bitcoin Opportunity Corp., Stephens Investment Management, Commerce Ventures and Buchanan Capital Management. In addition to the funding, Peter Bell, a partner at Highland Capital Partners, has been added to Bitnet’s board of directors.
