From security and servers to acquisitions and restructuring plans, here's a look at five news stories of interest to the channel from the week of Sept. 12-16, focusing on key numbers within those stories.

190 – Number of countries where cloud business applications provider Intermedia has customers. Intermedia - No. 189 on the CRN Solution Provider 500 - will be purchased by private equity powerhouse Madison Dearborn Partners. That announcement came just days after the Mountain View, Calif.-based company said that Microsoft channel superstar Eric Martorano was joining the company senior vice president of worldwide sales.

250 – Approximate number of partners privileged account security vendor CyberArk has in its channel. The Newton, Mass.-based company said it has made multiple enhancements to its CyberArk Global Channel Partner Program, including new certifications and tools, as it continues to grow the percentage of business it does through partners.

1 percentDecline in worldwide server revenue in the second quarter of 2016, although shipments rose 2 percent as x86 servers continue to gain market traction, according to Gartner. The technology research firm said Dell made gains while Hewlett Packard Enterprise saw steep year-over-year declines but retained its position as the revenue leader, at $3.2 billion for the quarter.

3,500 – Estimated number of employees that telecom vendor CenturyLink plans to lay off after months of grappling with declining revenue in its legacy voice services. But as the Monroe, La.-based company restructures, partners are seeing CenturyLink place more emphasis on the channel. "The channel is the most progressive vehicle that CenturyLink has to help it compete," a solution provider and CenturyLink partner who requested anonymity told CRN.

$1.05 billion – What HP Inc. is paying to acquire Samsung Electronics' printer business. HP Inc. CEO Dion Weisler told 1,300 partners at its Global Partner Conference that the company is "putting its money where its mouth is" to disrupt the copier market. His announcement drew thunderous applause from partners at the Boston Convention Center.
