Partnering with Check Point to accelerate threat research

With one of the largest and most advanced research organizations in the world, IBM understands the importance of keeping up with advanced threats. IBM X-Force research has expanded greatly over the years, adding experts across multiple disciplines from application security to malware. Through a newly expanded partnership with Check Point Software, we are collaborating to share early stage threat research and accelerate key findings and responses. IBM and Check Point are also teaming up through upcoming mobile integrations between IBM MaaS360 Enterprise Mobile Management (EMM) and Check Point’s Mobile Threat Prevention (MTP).

Acquiring Resilient Systems to improve threat response

An advanced threat was detected. Now what? Most security experts agree that it is no longer a question of if when it comes to a security incident, but when and how. With the recent announcement to acquire Resilient, IBM intends to expand the forensics capabilities in QRadar through a comprehensive set of playbooks for responding to different incident types and tap into its database of global regulatory requirements and compliance actions. We can then automate the key actions needed to respond, from generating letters to regulators to notifying employees.

Even given the scope of IBM’s security footprint, partnerships are key to our success going forward.
