Cloud Evolution: A Journey Together

As Cisco celebrated 25 years of Cisco Live this year in San Francisco, customers and partners are embracing the opportunities around the Internet of Everything like never before. Both groups are looking for Cisco to help them realize the benefits and manage the transition as well.
At Cisco Partner Summit 2014, we announced our Intercloud strategy and it continues to build momentum. At Cisco Live we took the next step and announced new offers and new partnering models.

Admittedly, this is a bold course and I believe this partner-centric approach differentiates Cisco and our partners. With these changes, new Intercloud reference architectures are added to the Cloud and Managed Service Program for partners who deliver Cisco Powered services. New Cisco Cloud solutions  enable Hybrid IT adoption while meeting today’s needs for SaaS solutions like Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft SQL Server. We are still working through the complete go-to-market strategy and expect these offers will launch and be orderable in the next 90 days.

For existing Cloud providers, our Intercloud strategy will offer faster time to market with new services and expanded reach to new market segments. For Cloud resellers, new offers will increase customer relevance by extending private clouds to Hybrid IT and open the door for new consulting and professional services. Cloud builders will be able to accelerate the move to Hybrid IT as customers shift select workloads between public and private clouds. Technology partners and ISVs who embrace Cisco ACI and Intercloud Fabric can provide faster on ramps to Hybrid IT while optimizing application performance.

We are moving fast and there are still many question partners have about how best to leverage and make money with Cisco’s Intercloud strategy. As we go forward, I am committed to helping partners rationalize the opportunity.

We’re on this journey together. Innovation is required to meet the rapidly changing business requirements for cloud, mobile and the Internet of Everything. We have a long history of facing market transitions together in a way that defines and redefines the industry while preserving our mutual investments and delivering value to our customers.

What an exciting moment. I’m looking forward to our next chapter, together.

Let me know what you think of Cisco’s new direction. As always, I want to be in active communication and as transparent as possible, so let me know your thoughts, questions and concerns.
