The theme at this year’s Cisco Partner Summit 2014 was Amazing Together. We chose that theme because we understand just how important partners are to all our success here at Cisco. We really are amazing together and the proof of what we can accomplish, and where we can go together, is certainly there when you look back at this past fiscal year.
We have covered so much ground in the past 12 months, and I wanted to take a moment to thank our partners and take a look at a few of the highlights from FY14. In fact, before I go any further, let’s literally take a quick look back at this past fiscal year. Here are highlights from just a few of our events:
We weren’t just amazing together at Cisco Partner Summit 2014. It was throughout the entire year. While we’re talking about Partner Summit though, just look at what we covered in Las Vegas this year:
- We announced the evolution of the Cisco Partner Ecosystem
- We saw the next generation Cisco Channel Partner Program
- Rob Lloyd introduced Cisco’s Global Intercloud
- We celebrated the fifth anniversary of the Unified Computing System (UCS)
Those are merely some of the key announcements from this year’s Partner Summit, and that was just in the month of March! As you saw in the video we accomplished so much more this past year with our partners, and the highlight video still only captures the tip of the iceberg. Again, I cannot stress enough that these accomplishments are only possible when working with our partners.
On the Cisco side, we work hard to create programs and tools to make it easier for you to provide excellent solutions to customers, but you go out and provide those excellent solutions to our customers on a daily basis. That type of hard work and dedication is exactly why you see Cisco winning awards such as the Annual Report Card (ARC) awards at Xchange 2013 this past year in Washington, D.C. It is also why we work so closely with you on all opportunities, including the potential $19 trillion opportunity in the Internet of Everything (IoE).
IoE will connect cars, home appliances, sensors and more. That is why we must focus more on the business outcomes that these connections allow, and that all ties back to our Partner Ecosystem, which you drive. We cannot simply worry about selling IoE technology. We must focus on the end solution, and how you get your customers to that end solution.
Your passion powers us. It’s why we can’t wait to see you throughout the year at events like Partner Summit, Cisco Marketing Velocity and Cisco Live. We know we will have fun with you, and together we will push onto bigger things each and every year. Because of that, I think it’s important to look back on FY14 and touch on a few of the things I’ve listed here. We don’t achieve our business in a vacuum. Our partners are vitally important to our success and we thank you for it!
Even looking back on just these few highlights from FY14, it’s easy to see just how much we accomplished together this past year. There’s so much more beyond what you see in this blog that you do for us on a daily basis. Again, we strive to give back to you with new programs, new tools and information exchange at events throughout the year. All that combined gives you an advantage, and the ability to go out in the marketplace and provide our customers with exactly what they need. From the Sourcefire acquisition to your evolution toward the cloud, we covered some serious ground in 2014. Let’s keep up the good work in fiscal year 2015.
