Cloud Transformation Will Continue To Disrupt The Channel

Jack Johnson, who heads the global channel management practice for San Francisco-based ServiceSource, cited "significant change" among distributors, VARs and ISVs in 2016 with Ingram Micro's sale to Tianjin Tianhai's HNA Group and Tech Data's purchase of Avnet's technology services business. In 2017, he predicted, cloud transformation will be at the root of channel consolidation, with between 10 and 20 percent of companies in the space being acquired or headed for closure or bankruptcy.
